i am a psycho boxing fan & regardless of the insanity, mike
tyson has always been one of my all time favorites. he was ferocious, fast as lightning & as far as i was concerned- always misunderstood. i cannot subscribe to
alot of the things he did or the way he lived his life, but i truly believe that he was a victim of his circumstances and was
completely lost & alone after
cus d'amato died.
directed by james tobak (who wrote
Bugsy and directed films like
Love and Money,
The Big Bang,
Black and White, and
Harvard Man) the
tyson documentary premiered last night in
ny (last week in LA & at cannes &
sundance) & not only was i lucky enough to go, i got to meet the man himself! the entire experience was surreal, but not surprising at all. he is a soft spoken,
somewhat humbled gentleman, and now just trying to live his life clean & sober.
if you are any kind of boxing fan, i highly
recommend this film- it will be in select theatres- so check your local listings- and catch the trailer below.
