MW for HM

matthew williamson's H&M collection, which is all peacock- hits stores today! i have always adored peacock feathers- the colors, the design- but i was once told they are bad luck- and actually had a personal experience with that! so i stay far away from anything peacock. (hey, don't kill the messanger- and if anything- i'm saving all you bitches money by not buying this stuff!!)
the collection is in 200 H&M stores worldwide including these three NYC H&M locations, which are supposedly mobbed. I won't be running there- but i may browse thru this wkend to see what is left over.

fashionably edible

all of us have that friend who has everything - so when it's time to get them a gift, the age old dilemma of - what do you buy the person who has everything - rolls around... what better than custom cookies?? (i know i would eat that right up!- no pun intended!)

plucking adorable

for all you tweezer happy gals out there (me included!) you might still go into over-plucking mode, but your eyebrows won't feel as bad with a pair of these adorable tweezers ;)

the constant gardener

you led me to the garden
i ate the apple
no shame, delicious

the fruit turned to flowers
when you spoke of their beauty
they blossomed in admiration

now each petal sobs with loneliness,
parched, in need of saturation,
wailing, wilting away to oblivion

a desolated garden of disappointment
flowers of sorrow in full bloom
each one with the same story

you planted them
you picked them
you left them to die

sick skulls

i don't think i will ever be sick of skulls- especially in big ass rings! and i live for the dichotomy of blending grime & glam - theo fennell's collection epitomizes this and is completely sick with it!

clean & flithy

nicole locher's motto is 'perversion with a touch of class'- my kind of girl!
she has pretty embroidered tops with cheeky names such as:
will fuck for shoes, sans culottes (meaning no panties!), you suck, best piece of ass in town
and whimiscal, girly baubles (as pictured) with similar smutty sentiments! i couldn't have said it better myself!
- my must haves : the fuck off locket & the coke and spoon pendant!

bad ass!

designer Jeffrey Appling's passionate designs stem from his diverse background as an Art Historian, Gemologist, Jewelry Appraiser, Gem Cutter, and typical love for living in the moment. an obvious fluid collaboration between gemstones and metal enables a harmonious presence, thus validating the materials used were meant for one another. these designs are nothing like i've seen before and are for both men & women.

whoa! alala

rarely am i impressed with fashion these days- i always go vintage & tweak it or go straight unaffordable couture - but this shit is drool worthy & on a whole other level!

artist and textile designer Camille Walala takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to working with futuristic fabrics, infusing a balanced dose of edgy technique and light humor into her other-worldly designs. her eye for explosive color, complex patterns, and layering techniques give each piece a life of it's own! i die for her!

I do not paint to be somebody greater than myself. I’m a son, brother, lover and friend first. The real work resides in the relationships I have with people. My paintings are bi-products and extensions of myself. My objective is to ease the fear of the unknown and to document the ether that binds our souls.

sssssss.....

i am always on the hunt for 2 finger rings- i love big, linear, brass knuckle kinda beauties- this one is more feminine & polished- but certainly a MUST have!

sample sale site

although i was never a huge fan of standard sample sales- the lines, the chaos, the overall drama- i can't bat a overextended eyelash on a good deal! a friend of mine forwarded me this site and i thought i'd share:

For over 20 years, Clothingline / SSS Sales has been the premiere company in New York City running authorized contemporary Stock & Sample. We are located in the heart of the garment center. We sell mostly current stock merchandise.

mike almighty

i am a psycho boxing fan & regardless of the insanity, mike tyson has always been one of my all time favorites. he was ferocious, fast as lightning & as far as i was concerned- always misunderstood. i cannot subscribe to alot of the things he did or the way he lived his life, but i truly believe that he was a victim of his circumstances and was completely lost & alone after cus d'amato died.

directed by james tobak (who wrote Bugsy and directed films like Love and Money, The Big Bang, Black and White, and Harvard Man) the tyson documentary premiered last night in ny (last week in LA & at cannes & sundance) & not only was i lucky enough to go, i got to meet the man himself! the entire experience was surreal, but not surprising at all. he is a soft spoken, somewhat humbled gentleman, and now just trying to live his life clean & sober.

if you are any kind of boxing fan, i highly recommend this film- it will be in select theatres- so check your local listings- and catch the trailer below.

la merde

All the guys i know from Portland STAY fresh - like it's their job- so it's no surprise this line comes from the OR crew behind the amusing graphic tee line No Star.

Merde applies traditional suiting materials to contemporary jacket styles, a high/low fusion also evident in their name. The tailored, slim-cut spring collection kicks off with a plethora of silhouettes- one standout pictured:
"Cape Cod"
light blue seersucker, hooded, white cuffs and waist, and a lime green hood drawstring modeled after a bow tie, allowing the Kennedys to flip seamlessly between their two favorite activities: getting drunk on the beach, and getting drunk on the beach wearing bow ties! BRILLIANT!-

and if that wasn't good enough- - because the best way to brace against the cool night breeze is booze, each jacket also features a custom interior flask pocket - - LOVE!

last nite a dj saved my life

everyone knows i'm a frustrated dj at heart- this tiny turntable-style speaker allows you to not only amplify your music, but let's you scratch as well. (It adds pre-programmed sound effects to your jams) - this little number should propel my next house party into a scratch fest!

DRAKE

another cat i was just introduced to & am currently totally obsessed with is drake. he's a canadian singer/rapper, actor who is known (but unbeknownst to me!) for playing the physically disabled character- jimmy brooks- on degrassi: the next generation.

he's got alot of cuts w. lil wayne (ugh!) - but one that is ok is 'brand new', another popular one w.trey songz (eh?) called replacement girl - but the clear cut cut (ha!) is most defintely 'sooner or later' - his voice is lovely, the beat is intoxicating & lyrically it's on point. caroline- this one's for you!

harlem holla

this kid's been out for a minute- but my sis just recently put me on to him - this cut is way catchy- and he's from my hood!

20-year-old Harlem native Charles Hamilton has been heralded by both industry professionals and the blogging world for his originality and eclectic uniqueness- but to me, he simply has a distinct, squirrley voice & a cool flow- i'm a fan so far...

return of the mack

You know you did the white scrunch socked high top velcro stapped reeboks back in the day - - I personally do NOT ever want to re-live any part of the 80's fashion era - but for those of you out there who do- there's a resurgence of reebok. many of these are limited editions that have already sold out, but you can find some of these out there.
oh yeah- these are chick kicks - but i wouldn't be surprised seeing kanye's statement makin' ass rocking these...

the nose knows

ok- im not much into novelty crap- but these nose themed goodies are whimsical enough to at least be conversational pieces!
